DESIGNING FOR YOUR VISION

Prior to founding AJ Studios, I worked as a commercial interior designer for 10 years at a variety of architectural firms in the Indianapolis area. I was fortunate to work with some amazing people on some great projects over the years and gain the experience I needed to be successful in this industry. I found that I enjoy personal connections and seeing how projects can transform how someone uses and experiences a space. 

Over the years friends and family would ask for my design help or design opinions. There would be times I would want to help, but with a full time job just couldn't squeeze it in and would have to say I wasn't able to help. I saw them frustrated trying to figure out where to start, and how they could apply their visions to their space and felt guilty not being there to support them. These feelings of wanting to help them navigate these challenges are what led to taking on residential side projects while working full time commercially.

From a young age, I have always wanted to be a business owner. While I was younger, my father ran a small family business in the heart of Broad Ripple. My mother also started and owned her own graphic design company out of our house the entire time I was growing up. After a few of life's curveballs, many "what if" conversations, and thinking about my parent's successes growing up, my husband Taylor and I decided now was the time to take a leap of faith and pursue AJ Studios full time.
